Whew!
What a busy month of May I have had. Although this is only the 31st of
May, I have decided to publish today rather than tomorrow as I will be
busy moving the whole first day of June.
Here
in Gowganda, it's hard to believe it's the end of May as I look out the
window and see snow falling with the sunlight radiating just behind a
thin veil of cloud. The only place where you can experience all four
seasons in a day.
I
am happy to report that all is going well with the move so far. There
were a few hiccups to get past but patience and time have worked them
all out.
This issue is smaller than some I've published in the
past but I trust you will find the stories here interesting and worth
your time. Enjoy.
Wolves know how to
fish. Click on the
above photo to view pictures of this wolf in action.
Of course, the
wolf was not the only animal fishing that day...

It's now springtime and the nature's mothers are hard at work feeding
and caring for their young.

Good news! Lesley Dunkin delivered
her baby into the world on Wednesday 27 May 2009. I don't
have all the details, but she and Bryan report a healthy baby girl,
weighing in at 6 pounds. They have named her Brooke Irene. The middle
name is in memory of Irene Durling, the baby's great grandmother.
Look up when entering
this part of the woods...
With the advent of
digital cameras, photographers have managed to take great photos of
birds
catching fish.
above to see two such birds in action.
This is how most wood piles look. Click on the above photo to view an
artistic statement made with a wood pile.
There you have it, another issue
completed. I
hope to continue to publish this newsletter from
North Bay in the months to come.
Summer is on the horizon, gently pushing at spring to take its place. Everything is turning green and new life is popping
up everywhere.
Of course, this means a
whole new batch of black flies to contend with. I have seen them but it
has been too cool for them to bite much. If only they can stay that way
for one more day...
See you here next
month. Enjoy the summer weather about to come your way!
